My second baseball book, YANKEE LEGENDS, has been released by Blue River Press in time for holiday shopping. To celebrate the occasion, I look forward to meeting with baseball fans at the Barnes & Noble in Nanuet, NY, site of several signing events last year for the No. 1 bestseller DIAMONDS FROM THE DUGOUT. I will be there from 2-5:30 pm (at least), signing copies of BOTH books. Please buy your copies there and we’ll personalize them on the spot!
Here is that store info: https://stores.barnesandnoble.com/store/1960
The location is central located around the greater NYC area. It is on the Rockland County side of the Tappan Zee Bridge (will always say that bridge name btw), directly across from The Shops of Nanuet. Come in and say hi, and join the discussion as I also finalize my own BBWAA Hall of Fame Ballot. I will check my final boxes at the end of that event, and then I will drop my ballot in the mail. Starting obviously with Mariano Rivera, but who else? Andy Pettitte? Drop by!
Look forward to seeing you, and I hope you enjoy this new book. With MUCH APPRECIATION to my researchers Adam and Jason Dore, we put this together on a tight deadline and recreated all the pivotal moments in the history of the greatest franchise in pro sports history. You will be surprised by some of the stories, eager to relive so many others. It was that new pitch that Rivera and Whitey Ford somehow mastered, that extra work at catcher for position players Yogi Berra and Jorge Posada, and the time Miller Huggins won his clubhouse thanks to Jacob Ruppert’s support that quelled an uprising. And this book has a real news peg, too: It is meant to serve as a guide to the 1919-2020 Hall of Fame Induction weekends, which both should set attendance records thanks to Rivera and Derek Jeter in succession. Mo is first and Jeter is second in the rollout of essays in this book, by design. Keep this with you and get it signed! - Mark
